Steve Torkildson
- Mr. Torkildson has over
30 years of experience with the design and engineering of power plant components.
- Steve Torkildson received
his BS degree in civil (structural) engineering from the University of Wisconsin
in 1973.
- His expertise lies in
the stress analysis and design of complex non-building structures and mechanisms.
His work experience includes the design of wind tunnels, aerospace testing
equipment, heat recovery steam generators, cranes, offshore platform mooring
systems, naval missile launchers, underwater explosion shock analysis, vibration
analysis and design of powered, movable structures.
- Most recently he worked
on research, product development, and failure analysis for Deltak LLC, a major
heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) producer. Mr. Torkildson has 14 years
of experience with HRSG design extending back to 1978 when he developed structural
concepts, floating internal insulation schemes and the first HRSG perforated
plate flow conditioning system for some of the earliest gas turbine HRSGs.
- Mr. Torkildson has published
several papers on the analysis of HRSG cycling and fatigue and developed software
to speed the process of HRSG fatigue evaluation.
