Structural/Stress Analysis

SI has experts who can provide solutions from simple to very complex structural and stress analysis problems. We perform both linear elastic and nonlinear analysis using state-of-the-art analytical techniques. SI has used its expertise to perform stress analyses on pressure vessels, tanks, piping systems, pumps, tubing, headers, heat exchangers, valves, reactor internals, turbines and hydroelectric power plant components such as penstocks.

SI employs a wide range of computer codes and analytical techniques for the analysis of complex equipment and structures. The ANSYS general purpose finite element software is used extensively for such analyses. The program PIPESTRESS is used in performing stress analysis of piping systems for a variety of loadings including thermal stratification. In addition, SI has developed specialized programs such as PIPE-TS™ and TOPBOT™. These programs are routinely used for linear and nonlinear analysis of complex structures subjected to thermal, static, and dynamic loading.
