ICDA Training

Training is available on many Pipeline Integrity Management Principals. Training is aimed at Engineers and Supervisors that perform or manage IM activities. All classes include documentation and testing to satisfy regulatory requirements necessary to support the basis for “qualified individuals”.

Classes are conducted periodically at SI facilities in Denver, CO and Whittier, CA. On-site training is also available upon request.

  • Welding and Remediation Principals
  • Risk Assessment Design
  • ECDA Principals & Practices
  • ICDA Principals & Practices
  • Guided Wave Ultrasonic Testing (GWUT) Fundamentals
  • Operator Qualification (OQ) for supervising GWUT

Benefits of the SI ICDA Offering

  • Formal Process Documentation & Forms that comply with DOT 192.927 requirements
  • Technique follows ASME B31.8S and intent of NACE draft standard
  • Written ICDA procedures are currently in use by several Gas Transmission and Gas Distribution companies
  • Elevation profiling can be efficiently derived from USGS elevation data without the need for costly GPS-RTK site surveys
  • Project information is PODS compliant and is delivered as an ArcReader project (a freeware ESRI application) that can be easily integrated into existing GIS databases.
  • Threat Qualification Processes can be rapidly applied to entire system, allowing the operator to
    1. meet the December 2007 inspection timeline requirements for pipe evaluated using ECDA
    2. effectively schedule comprehensive ICDA project when risk appropriate.
  • Integrated approach streamlines ICDA process into a only few months instead of 9-12 months.
  • SI has the most qualified GWUT technicians in the US (5 crews) and can guarantee inspection services to meet project schedules
  • SI has the engineering expertise to identify required GWUT sensitivity parameters to maximize Post-Assessment results and reinspection recommendations
