FatiguePro Cycle-Based Fatigue Module

Cycle-based fatigue monitoring consists of computing fatigue directly from counted transients and parameters. Several methods are available to perform cycle-based fatigue calculations, including partial cycle and stress reconstruction. The method of choice is dependent upon the information available, especially the detail provided in governing stress reports. The most commonly deployed method is a design-basis fatigue calculation where the fatigue table from the governing stress report is used as a basis, but actual numbers of cycles are substituted for assumed design basis numbers of cycles. This methodology is relatively simple to implement and is intended for components where long-term structural acceptability is not a concern, and is routinely used when limited information is available in the design basis stress report. This typically encompasses most locations of the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) and Class 1 piping systems.
