What is FatiguePro?
FatiguePro is a software system that performs automatic cycle counting, and fatigue and fatigue crack growth monitoring of critical nuclear power plant components. FatiguePro is an EPRI owned and licensed product, which was developed by Structural Integrity Associates (SI) since 1986. FatiguePro is now in use at more nuclear power plants across the globe than any comparable system, making it the industry's choice in automated fatigue monitoring.
FatiguePro is an easily installed, Windows-based software system that automatically tracks fatigue usage and plant transients per Technical Specification requirements. Plant-specific analysis is performed instantly for all actual plant events, thus providing realistic assessment of fatigue usage without the conservatism of design basis analyses. Off-line simulation of any speculated transient events may be used to answer "what-if" scenarios, and operational or in-service inspection (ISI) requirements can be made based on fatigue damage results. A fatigue crack growth module can also be provided which allows for fast assessments of ISI results. FatiguePro facilitates plant life extension/license renewal activities by providing an immediate, up-to-date, and continual assessment of fatigue usage in all critical plant components (both vessel and piping).
FatiguePro monitors fatigue usage in critical plant components using existing plant instrumentation. Measurements of pressure, temperature, flow and other operating parameters are employed with analytically derived transfer functions to create "virtual instruments" at the locations of interest.
