Piping vibration and especially small bore piping vibration problems has been a problem in plants for years. One of the major issues in resolving these problems has been difficulty in collecting quality and meaningful vibration data. Over the years, Structural Integrity has recognized the need to develop a portable data acquisition system designed for a quick and easy data recording.

The system is laptop based and consists of a set of accelerometers, instrumented impact hammer, signal conditioner, anti-alias filter, and analog-to-digital converter. customized software (pre installed) allows the vibration engineer to acquire data automatically (by configuring triggers based on the signal level)_ or manually (by an single click of the button). It also allows for data analysis, both in real time and from recorded files. It also has data reduction and post processing module allowing the user to quickly remove insignificant sections or whole channels from the recordings (this is an especially useful tool considering how much data can be collected even on the simplest jobs), as well as format the collected data for direct import into pipe stress analysis software such as SuperPipe and Pipe Stress.
