Materials evaluations—the cornerstone of so many industrial accidents and failures—are a Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) strong point. Our seasoned metallurgical experts are supported by a dedicated metallurgical laboratory at our state-of-the-art Materials Science Center in Austin, Texas. The laboratory is fully equipped to perform the meticulous materials evaluations demanded by any forensic engineering investigation, including optical metallography and fractography, scanning electron microscopy, quantitative microstructural analyses, scale and deposit analyses for corrosion evaluations, chemical composition analyses and alloy verification, and mechanical property testing.
