Structural Integrity Associates has been involved in hydroelectric engineering consulting since our founding in 1983.
Our primary involvement assists leading U.S. utilities in their numerous hydroelectric facilities from evaluation of penstocks and turbine rotors to failure analysis to vibration monitoring and evaluation. Currently we’re evaluating existing penstocks for continued operation, participating in a pressure boundary asset management program, and evaluation of degradation mechanisms in penstocks.
Additionally, we have been involved with the assets of international utilities, and just completed the design of a major penstock weld repair that affects the future operation on one of the largest high head plants in the world.
Structural Integrity maintains a presence on appropriate ASCE committees and other industry-related functions in order to remain current on the state-of-the-art technologies for hydroelectric equipment.
