License Renewal Part 2: Environmental Fatigue

Environmental fatigue assessment is now part of the license renewal process at nuclear plants. This SI Webinar, the second of two parts (see License Renewal Part 1, Fatigue Management), provides background on the issues, including NRC studies under the Fatigue Action Plan and more-recent laboratory data; current NRC requirements for environmental fatigue evaluations for license renewal, as detailed in NRC's Generic Aging Lessons Learned Report; the current methodology for environmental fatigue assessment; and what ASME is doing to address environmental fatigue issues.
