Materials Evaluations
Materials evaluations—the cornerstone of so many failure analyses—are a Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) strong point. SI's seasoned metallurgical engineers are supported by a dedicated metallurgical laboratory at SI's state-of-the-art Materials Science Center in Austin, Texas. The laboratory is fully equipped to perform the meticulous materials evaluations demanded by incident investigation, including optical metallography and fractography; scanning electron microscopy; quantitative microstructural analyses; scale and deposit analyses; chemical analyses and alloy verification; and mechanical property testing.
