AuditPro™
Pipeline Integrity Management Program (IMP) audits can be used to ensure that IMP processes, procedures, and implementation are all in strict compliance with U.S. DOT regulations. These audits are complicated, to say the least, but Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) offers its pipeline clients audit support through the powerful capabilities of SI-developed AuditPro™. Microsoft® Access®-based AuditPro systematically reviews and documents an IMP's process status and implementation status against DOT protocols. If an IMP audit is pending, AuditPro can also be used to establish priorities for IMP plan improvements, document both near-term and long-term plans, or cross-reference plan and protocol issues. SI's AuditPro can also generate reports—for either the entire plan, or for single protocol issues—for stakeholders, regulators, or internal staff. SI is prepared to help clients remedy many of the process or procedural gaps identified by AuditPro, including those related to ECDA procedures, guided-wave ultrasonic procedures, liquid sampling procedures, threat assessment plans, repair guidelines, bell-hole inspection procedures, and risk assessment.

MAPPro™ & MAPProView™
MAPPro™—Managing Aging Piping Pro—should be a critical component of any data management program for aging buried piping systems. This powerful proprietary corrosion engineering database helps Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) and its clients expedite data management, decision-making, and process documentation using a wealth of asset data: design and operating data; corrosion control data; data on leaks, repairs, and replacements; inspection data, including cathodic protection, excavation, soils, visual, and ultrasonic; and analysis data. MAPPro is enhanced by SI's MAPProView™, a state-of-the-art database visualization tool that can be used as a 3-D model to assist with identifying pipe and tank locations that require particular attention, or for excavation planning, release modeling, or analysis of monitoring wells.

RiskPro™
RiskPro™ engineering program employs a powerful integrity risk model to simplify risk assessment for gas transmission pipelines. The risk model, tailored by Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) to meet client needs, evaluates the likelihood and consequences of failure of specific pipeline segments, using operator historical incident data and operator subject matter expert input collected, reviewed, and incorporated into RiskPro by SI, along with industry incident data from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. Ranking of consequences of failure is based on average density of residences in high-consequence areas, and RiskPro can even include business and environmental consequences where data is available. The simple-to-use RiskPro algorithm is highly flexible: one recent SI application considered over 700 high-consequence areas, with more than 90 different data fields. RiskPro can be used with either Microsoft® Excel® or Access®: Microsoft Access enables faster calculations, easier data entry, and integration with geographic information systems, while Microsoft Excel permits more customization, facilitates graphics output, and provides spreadsheet interface.

SoilPro™
The ability to estimate the corrosion rate of buried steel pipe or other components permits pipeline operators to schedule timely re-inspection and mitigation of any anomalies before they can attain critical size. Conventional methods estimate soil corrosiveness, relying on just a few soil parameters, or use coupons or probes to measure quantitative corrosion rates. SoilPro™ by Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) is a proprietary corrosion model that considers up to 13 different soil parameters — in addition to cathodic protection data — to develop a quantitative estimate of worst-case pitting rate for buried steel. SoilPro uses data on full-size pipe samples buried in 15 different soils in the United States, Canada, and Australia over a five-year period; the model was developed by performing 130,000 regression analyses on 42 datasets to determine soil and cathodic protection attributes most significant to reported pitting rate. With the sole exception of cathodic protection data, all data necessary for applying SoilPro can be gleaned from laboratory analysis of a pipeline backfill soil sample, eliminating the need for probes and coupons. SI applies SoilPro in a range of pipeline projects, including external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) projects and buried pipe integrity management programs.

TurboECDA™
External corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) of gas and hazardous liquid pipelines includes collecting and documenting a wide range of pipeline design and operational data for pre-assessment. TurboECDA™ data management software from Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) was developed specifically to expedite these efforts for clients' ECDA projects. The versatile software tracks and manages historical data, engineering data, and post-assessment analysis data, and can also fully document a pipeline operator's ECDA processes and procedures. TurboECDA can be used to generate necessary reports for internal staff, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies as well.
