Our Critical Structure experts, Dan Peters and Myles Parr, will attend the 14th LDPE Plant Improvement Conference in Sopot Poland, June 17th – 19th. As a Silver Supplier Sponsor, we will be available in booth #21 to discuss ideas, challenges, and advances in high-pressure vessel environments. Dan and Myles look forward to connecting with other professionals in the field to analyze, exchange and provide solutions respective to the improvements that are key within the industry.
Dan Peters, Senior Associate, was selected to present his abstract on Wednesday morning about Comprehensive Asset Management Programs. This specific abstract includes a focus of management of tubular polyethylene reactors and similar equipment such as gas coolers from autoclave style reactors. Dan will speak to the most common failure modes of these tubes while providing cost-effective methods for life management of these critical assets, including our multidisciplinary approach to reduce unforeseen failures. Risk due to the probability and consequence of the failure of tubular polyethylene reactors can determine decisions for run, inspect, repair, or replace strategies.
Dan and Myles are both active members in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) both in the area of Codes and Standards and technology development through the Pressure Vessel and Piping Division.
Dan is currently the Chairman of the ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping Division, an ASME Fellow, and has received the ASME Dedicated Service Award. In 2018 Dan also received of the J. Hall Taylor Award for his outstanding contributions to the development and promotion of ASME codes and standards for pressure equipment; and for efforts to enhance public safety and component reliability through dedicated service on the Society’s pressure vessel and piping committees.
