Mr. Lyon is a Professional Engineer with over 30 years of experience in nuclear fuel and materials research and development. His experience includes work as a developer and as Project Manager for the EPRI-sponsored Falcon fuel performance code. Mr. Lyon is also a technical contributor to the DOE-sponsored BISON and BISON-CASL advanced fuel performance code development projects and numerous other projects supporting steady state and transient analyses, PCI margin assessments, flexible power operations, and modeling and analysis of spent nuclear fuel, silicon carbide cladding, and other advanced materials with applications to accident tolerant fuel (ATF) and other advanced nuclear fuel system designs. Prior experience also includes extensive work on liquid metal reactor fuels and materials, thermal hydraulic analysis and modeling, as well as thermal analysis of optical and digital instrumentation packages for satellites/spacecraft. Mr. Lyon has over 75 open literature publications, journal articles, and technical reports. A list of recent publications is shown below.
