SUMMARY
Structural Integrity specializes in comprehensive Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) water chemistry support for nuclear facilities, improving reliability, safety, and plant performance through technical precision and expert guidance. Our chemists and engineers work alongside station staff on condensate polishing system optimization, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation, and on reactor water clean-up optimization that maximizes system efficiency while reducing impurities and exposure risk. Chemical injection optimization covers CNMI, hydrogen water chemistry, and zinc programs, while detailed source term evaluations provide the radiological assessments that reduce dose and improve outage performance. Where resin strategy is on the table, our condensate resin optimization work has returned savings of $65,000 to more than $300,000 per unit each year.
Because lasting improvement depends on the people running the plant, we also deliver BWR operational training for plant chemistry, operations, and engineering staff, backed by customized mentoring and procedure development that makes knowledge transfer stick. We provide and maintain CDIL and ICON execution and training, and support execution of other EPRI member software including the transient tool and BWRVIA.
Support extends across balance-of-plant and auxiliary systems — stator water cooling purity and conductivity control, open cooling water biofouling prevention and scale inhibition, service and emergency service water evaluations, closed cooling water corrosion control, liquid radwaste processing, and license renewal and extended power uprate. New equipment design support carries projects from concept through implementation.
Chemistry rarely stands alone at an operating station, so our work sits inside a broader suite of operational support services. SI’s radiation management team performs ALARA and source term assessments, evaluates Standard Radiation Monitoring and Characterization dose rate data, models zinc surface behavior to predict outage dose rates, and supports fuel defect mitigation. Our emergency preparedness specialists cover effluent radiation monitoring, dose assessment programs and training, and the radiological inputs behind EP drills and Protective Action Recommendations.
Whether you need on-site help during an outage, remote support, or a customized long-term program, Structural Integrity offers a proactive approach to chemistry and equipment health. Learn more about our BWR chemistry optimization services or explore our full range of nuclear chemistry support.
