Designed by experts for BWR and PWR chemistry and radiation protection personnel, this course develops participants’ in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of RETS/REMP and delivers practical, hands-on learning and proven techniques for personnel who are responsible for RETS and REMP activities. Common topics will be covered throughout the seminar as well as targeted design-specific topics for BWR and PWR.
Newly assigned program owners, backup program owners, and personnel with 2 to 5 years of experience, as well as long-term incumbents in Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM) programs, are encouraged to attend this training course. Regardless of where you are in your career, this class offers valuable opportunities to expand your knowledge, gain new perspectives, and connect concepts that can help solve technical challenges. ODCM programs are highly specialized, and many sites have limited local expertise available to provide technical oversight or support. This training serves as a forum for building an industry-wide network of peers and subject matter experts who can provide ongoing technical guidance and support as you develop, enhance, and maintain a robust program.
Our instructors include Douglas Wahl and Roger Tolbert with collectively over 60 years of experience in the Offsite Dose calculation Manual program.
Doug Wahl has worked in the nuclear industry since 1977 developing, maintaining and enhancing environmental program including offsite dose calculation manual programs and initiatives as a utility employee as well as an industry consultant, Doug brings a very wide range of experiences and deep technical knowledge. Doug is the recipient of the 2013 Jason Jang award for excellence in ODCM programs and maintaining knowledge within the industry.
Roger Tolbert has worked in the industry since 1985, providing expert advice, training and guidance to the nuclear industry effluents programs and radiological environmental monitoring within the nuclear industry as well as in a consultant role. Roger brings a practical, hands on perspective to his training and mentoring perspective.
This course provides practical, hands-on information and techniques for personnel responsible for the ODCM program and associated activities. Through this course, students develop a deeper knowledge of ODCM technical principles, regulatory basis, annual reports and practical application.
Training materials and activities are expertly designed to support, strengthen, and increase the knowledge and proficiency of program owners.
