Ensuring Equipment is structurally sound and within the accepted design margins
Life Cycle Management
SI provides engineering support to critical assets to support the complete life cycle of the equipment.
We offer a complete basis for supporting the entire life cycle from conceptual design through operation, inspection, and maintenance to retirement and replacement of critical assets.
SI performs complete fitness-for-service support for known issues with critical assets.
These issues may be due to abnormal operational conditions, flaws found during inspection, or end of life. This type of support can be vital in making run, repair, replace decisions to support short cycle critical turnarounds and often allow units to get back online in the most expeditious methods possible while minimizing downtime.
We support in design and analysis of custom pressure equipment for some of the most challenging operational conditions to meet ASME, API, and other internationally recognized standards and compliance documents for legal requirements, such as the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), from around the world.
This includes design specifications, analytical design reports including finite element, local strain failure, fracture mechanics, buckling, inspection planning, and other critical assessments.
Code & Regulatory Compliance
SI has recognized experts active in the creation and implementation of codes and standards internationally recognized from around the world, including ASME, API, CSA, and compliance with regulations and requirements of regulating bodies such as the EU’s Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), Japan’s KHK High-Pressure Gas Safety Institute, US’s Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Chemical Safety Board, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and US DOT Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
We have provided expert oversight and engineering guidance to clients to weave through the complex system of worldwide laws and regulations governing the design, certification, operation, inspection, and life management of critical assets.
